1973 Datsun. 620 Pickup

The Datsun Truck is a compact pickup truck made by Nissan in Japan from 1955 through 1997. It was originally sold under the Datsun brand, but this was switched to Nissan in 1983. It was replaced in 1997 by the Frontier and Navara. In Japan, it was sold only in Nissan Bluebird Store locations.

This is the 1:24 scale die-cast metal with plastic parts of the 1973 Datsun. 620 Pickup. Just for a moment, consider for just the last 100 years, the number of manufactures with all their types of vehicles and types of models, just how important it is to attempt some order in which to showcase these various makes and models, to show just how far we have come in each different category. And with the Utilities and small trucks section alone, there are just so many that have been produced and it shows no sign of even slowing down. These types of vehicles perform an important part in maintaining our industrialisation of our society, mainly due to these remarkable ability of these vehicles to perform so many daily tasks in so many different industries, that its very hard to appreciate just how much we really depend on these vehicles.

And consider this, these are workhorses and built not for looks but for practicality reasons. So having models of probably to many people to be a mainly boring vehicle, that in the greater scheme of things, most people would not even take any notice of them driving along any road or highway. But does that mean that these should never to be remembered. These boring mainly plain vehicles have had just as a major impact on shaping who we are today as any other. And yes having this 1973 Datsun. 620 Pickup in the museum collection is to show our children, hey just look at the amazing vehicles that our ingenuity have produced to perform many different tasks that have built our humanity. So here in our model of this Datsun, we have shown that in 1973 we have a pickup that was used by so many of the different trades that made life more practical in having something perform so many tasks, that to imagine that they made our lives for interesting.

This is not the greatest model made, but it is a very accurate model of the real 1973 Datsun. 620 Pickup. So we can show that in 1973, this was what we have, and we can show just how it has improved for better or worse what is now being designed and Built. 3.5/5.0. Robin Finlay. 09/09/2022.
