Ford Ranchero Utility
The Ford Ranchero is a coupe utility that was produced by Ford between 1957 and 1979. Unlike a standard pickup truck, the Ranchero was adapted from a two-door station wagon platform that integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body. A total of 508,355 units were produced during the model's production run.[2] Over its lifespan it was variously derived from full-sized, compact, and intermediate automobiles sold by Ford for the North American market. The Ford Ranchero coupe utility is a 1:24 scale die-cast metal model. This is stand-in model until a larger 1:18 scale model can be found. This particular Utility is known here in Australian Ford Utility. The body and paintwork is actually quite clean with the paintwork clean with no defects what so ever. The chrome work is also very good, with all the plastic parts such as headlights and door mirrors with back lights very good. Doors and bonnet open reasonably with when closed display little gap . The only problem is that the boot does not open.
The interior of the vehicle is black plastic with while the detail displays all the parts quite reasonably. Door panels just show basic detail only in relief with the seats are the same. Dashboard is the same, with because of its scale shows a reasonable indication what the real Ford Ranchero coupe utility looked like. There are no decals on the instrument panel due again to the size.
The engine compartment, again in all back, displaces a simple outline of the engine. Again no decals or even like some vehicles, with the air cleaner a different colour. We have the Ford Panel van which is also the same, but the engine detail is more realistic. Not much more one can say, but I guess some makers because of the scale are not prepared to put that extra effort for collectors. so this reflects in the points I give it. 3.0/5.0.
